CEVR Welcomes 2024 CEA Registry Summer Fellows


CEVR is thrilled to introduce the 2024 cohort of the Tufts-CEVR CEA Registry Summer Fellowship program, which is supported by the Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation.

Over the next eight weeks, six talented students from graduate programs around the country will review hundreds of cost-effectiveness analyses (CEAs) for CEVR’s CEA Registry while conducting original health policy research of their own.

To get to know the fellows better, we asked them about their research interests, career aspirations, favorite pastimes, and unique experiences. We have shared some of their responses below.


Nicole Wong

Pursuing an MPH in Health Policy & Management at Columbia University

Research interests: Pediatric diseases - genetics, immunizations, complex disease, asthma

After completing her studies, Nicole plans to conduct health systems research as a Clinician Academic. She is a mother to two-year-old twins and enjoys walking, spending time with friends, and exploring New York City.

Prachet Bhatt

Pursuing a PhD in Pharmaceutical Health Outcomes & Policy at University of Houston

Research interests: Opioid treatment-based interventions, CKD, cancer

Prachet intends to pursue a tenure-track position in a health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) or public health administration program after finishing his PhD. He enjoys playing pickleball, watching anything Star Wars related, playing tennis/baseball, and watching movies.

Roselyn Amamoo

Pursuing a PhD in Health and Pharmaceutical Outcomes at University of Arizona

Research interests: Cancer, infectious diseases

Roselyn hope to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on pharmacoeconomics. Top items on her bucket list include visiting all 50 U.S. states and going skydiving. She has an identical twin who is following a similar career path.

Xujun Gu

Pursuing a PhD in Pharmaceutical Health Services Research at University of Maryland

Research interests: Diabetes, COPD, cancer

Xujun is an aspiring researcher who is looking forward to enhancing his understanding of CEA and investigating different topics with CEVR faculty during the summer fellowship. He enjoys cooking and working out.

Vicente (Vito) Alberto Puyat

Pursuing an MS in Epidemiology at Harvard School of Public Health

Research interests: Cancer, ambulatory care-sensitive conditions

Vito hopes to either 1) return to the Philippines to provide research support to the government and international organizations in public health policy, or 2) pursue a PhD to develop innovative methods for advancing public health research. Previously, he worked with local communities in the Philippines to rescue and rehabilitate wildlife.

Shu Niu

Pursuing a PhD in Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy at University of Florida

Research interests: Cancer, diabetes, gene therapy

Shu is looking forward to refining her research ideas and establishing connections in HEOR during the CEA Registry summer fellowship. One day she hopes to travel to Alaska to see the Aurora Borealis.
