CEVR is thrilled to introduce the 2022 cohort of the Tufts-CEVR CEA Registry Summer Fellowship program, which is supported by the Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation.
Over the next eight weeks, six talented students from graduate programs around the country will review hundreds of cost-effectiveness analyses (CEAs) for CEVR’s CEA Registry while conducting original health policy research of their own.
To get to know the fellows better, we asked them about their research interests, career aspirations, favorite pastimes, and unique experiences. We have shared some of their responses below.
Katherine Clifford
Pursuing an MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics with an Infectious Disease certificate at Boston University School of Public Health
Research interests: Thyroid disorders, endocrine disruption, fertility, tuberculosis, influenza, HIV/AIDS, heart disease, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, vaccines
Katherine likes to spend her time outside, especially running, hiking, and scuba diving when she can. Katherine wants to meet chef/author David Chang and recommends his memoir, “Eat A Peach”, for its unique perspective.
Turanoom Haque
Pursuing an MPH in Sociomedical Sciences at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health
Research interests: Chronic myeloid leukemia
Turanoom likes to spend time exploring new restaurants with friends and family. Growing up, she enjoyed Bollywood movies and learned Hindi from watching them.
Naana Nkrumah-Ababio
Pursuing an MPH in Health Policy at Harvard University School of Public Health
Research interests: Cancer, cancer screening, advanced cancer therapeutics
Naana wants to visit Machu Picchu someday, and wants to meet Chris Rock. She would like to pursue a career in global oncology research and advocacy.
Chinemerem Nnadi
Pursuing a PharmD at Virginia Commonwealth University
Research interests: Diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer
Chinemerem loves watching soccer and her favorite TV shows. She has always wanted to try fishing. After her education, she hopes to work in the pharmaceutical industry to improve patient outcomes through research.
Tony Roberts
Pursuing a PhD in Health Services, Policy, and Practice at Brown University
Research interests: Health technology assessment, economic evaluations, medical devices, digital health, orthopedic disorders, heart failure, health disparities
Tony was born in Chicago and loves Chicago sports, but has also lived in Nigeria. He says there are many things on his bucket list, but at the top is seeing the northern lights in Norway or Iceland.
Allison Rong
Pursuing an MPH in Epidemiology at Columbia Mailman School of Public Health
Research interests: Mental health, substance abuse, obesity, diabetes, telehealth
Allison enjoys sci-fi and fantasy books, playing badminton with friends, and spending time with her budgies, Kiwi and Snow. She would like to travel to Japan to visit Mt. Fuji someday.
